Several Notes About Log Furniture

All Cedar, Aspen & Pine logs are subject to the natural drying process of checking. Checking happens as wood releases moisture, and normally occurs across or through the annual growth rings. Checking is one of the characteristics of Cedar, Aspen and Pine logs and does not affect the structural performance of integrity of the wood. White Cedar will not shrink or wrap due to checking or exposure to the elements. Our beds and chairs are made from natural cedar and aspen logs.Log diameters vary over the length of the log. Therefore, outside measurements such as overall length and width may vary several inches from one bed to the other, even though one is measuring beds with the same bed number.
