Wool is a natural fiber, one of Mother Nature's many gifts, made up of millions of "coil springs" that stretch and give rather than break. In addition,wool has natural water repellent qualities, it literally repels liquids. Wool also has a natural fire retardant. It can catch fire, but it will not flare up or support the flame. Wool has a natural elasticity and resists static, also absorbs sound, making it a great noise reducer.

The pile height is 14 mm. We use 65 cout wool in 6 ply for tufting. There are 5x5 stitches of 65 count 6 ply/sq. inch, so there will be 32400 stitches of 65 count 6 ply wool in 1 sq. yard. The wight of the finished rug is 3.75 kg or 132 oz/sq. yard.
